We Are Finalists At The Aviva Funding Awards!

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]At the end of last year, our friends at Coversure Insurance advised they had put our name forward to the Aviva Funding programme. Following this news we put together a funding applciation around some plans we had to expand on our financial support for people affected by cancer.

Georgie submitted the application in November and early December, we received the wonderful news that we are finalists and as a result are invited to the Finalists ceremony on 12th March 2025 in London, where we find out on the day if we have been successful.

Our ‘Bridge The Gap’ funding application aims to support in the following way:-

Our vision is to expand our financial support services to meet the growing needs of over 1,500 service users and the broader cancer community in the Midlands. With your support, we aim to introduce new programs like:

  • Educational Workshops: Teach money management and budgeting skills.
  • Cosy Cafes: Offer a warm, welcoming space where those affected by cancer can enjoy a nutritious meal and learn cost-effective, healthy cooking practices. This initiative will also provide a social setting to reduce isolation, using our resources to save on their home energy costs.
  • Enhanced Financial Counselling: Expand our existing services to include more comprehensive benefits advice, debt management, housing, and council tax support. We will offer these services both one-on-one for privacy and in group settings to foster community support.

Funding from Aviva would enable the establishment of regular ‘Cosy Cafes’ and a series of topical workshops designed to educate and assist our community in navigating their financial challenges. It would also support the provision of free, nutritious meals and the resources needed to conduct these workshops, including materials and expert speakers.

The monies would  directly empower individuals and families to manage the financial strain of cancer more effectively, ensuring they have access to the support they need when they need it most. Together, we can make a substantial difference in the lives of those affected by cancer, providing them not just with support, but with the tools for resilience during their most challenging times.

Regardless of the outcome there is an added bonus, whereby Aviva will double any donations received via ou Aviva crowdfunding page up to the value of a whopping  £50,000. On Monday 3rd February at 12pm our funding page will go live and we hope that howevever big or small, our incredible supporters can contribute to our fund. If you donate even £1  we will receive £2, if you donate £10 we will receive £20, Donate £100 and we will receive £200. THis is at not cost or admin fee to you!

We hope that you can not only keep your fingers crossed for us, but if you can look out across our socials for our page to go live on Monday 3rd Feb 2025 and donate whatever you can afford to Help Harry Help Others.
