HelpCURE funding update from Phd Student Timothy Mulvany

At our 2023 charity ball we announced the 3 year funding of our latest Phd Student, Timothy Mulvany who will be based at Aston University. TImothy has already made progress within brain tumour research and he recently got in touch to update us on his progress……….

Timothy Mulvany from Aston Uni shared: “I’m currently in the middle of writing my first paper which is looking at one of the barriers we face when we try to implement our findings in clinical settings. I’ve presented the initial results of this research at a postgraduate researcher event for the British-Irish Chapter of The International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine where it was well received. I’ve also been accepted onto a summer school in Cambridge hosted by the CRUK Children’s Brain Tumour Centre of Excellence where I’ll have the opportunity to learn about different areas from drug discovery to different clinical uses of AI that will help to expand my understanding and further inform my research.”

HHHO are passionate about supporting up and coming talent in this field. His manager Jan Novak was himself funded via HHHO and the Birmingham Walkathon done in Harry’s memory in 2013, and he is now leading the way himself for students wishing to progress in this field of brain tumour research. This is definately a legacy for HHHO for all the students we have helped secure funding and futures in this vital field. It gives hope for people that are not even diagnosed yet and something we are super proud to support as best we can.
