Mobile Cervical Cancer Screening Comes To HHHO

We are delighted to announce that we will have the mobile cervical cancer screening unit coming to the drop in cancer centre in Birmingham starting in February.  Following on from our regular hosting of the lung screening van each month, we have an extended service for more screening to help people identify an issue as early as possible.

There are many similarities with the lung screening programme that we run but with one key difference – this is a drop in service and no appointment is necessary.  You can even bring someone for support if you want to and come at a time to suit you between 9am and 5pm on Tuesday 24 February.  Whether it’s a cervical screening that is due or even overdue or you just simply want some peace of mind, you are welcome to come along and see the friendly team who will look after you.  If you can’t make it on the 24th February, then you can come along on 24th March or 28th April.

Our social media campaign has included a video from Georgie talking to all those women who need to think about a cervical cancer screening but may have put it off or have ignored any requests they have had from their GP.  The message is simple – just get it done, it could literally save your life.

In addition, Georgie shared the information on social media about her recent experience and the screening that she had which thankfully resulted in a negative outcome.  She wanted to show that while we talk about things like this a lot, we do practice what we preach and Georgie had a cervical cancer screening herself.

To find out more about the mobile cervical cancer screening unit which will be here at HHHO, get in touch and we’ll be happy to tell you more
