We’re looking for the Birmingham community to come together to help two people affected by cancer who have faced a series of bad luck and unfortunate events which has literally affected their day to day lives in the home where they live. From a prostate cancer diagnosis to a hospital stay starting at one night and ending up with an entire month, septic shock and then a tragic accident which resulted in a leg amputation, this has been one issue after another in a short space of time that many people don’t face in their entire lives. Our Respite Renovation projects are all about giving people a helping hand who desperately need it and stepping in to improve their situation, whatever that may be. We have undertaken projects in the past which has seen the renovation of houses and improving the living conditions of families affected by cancer. What has always been the backbone of these projects though is the Birmingham community coming together and this is where we need your help again.
We are looking for businesses and individuals in the Birmingham community and beyond who can help with assistance and donations to change the lives of Andy and Donna. Whether it’s building materials, equipment, advice, time or something else then we are open to suggestions. We would really appreciate anyone who can contribute and we know that it will make such a difference to Andy and Donna. The last time we organised one of these Respite Renovation projects we were blown away by the response of the Birmingham business community to help us achieve our goal so we are asking again for local businesses to step up and show what an amazing bunch you are. We are looking for support in the following areas and if you are able to help please get in touch:
- Flooring
- Bathroom supplies
- Carpentry
- Labour
- Plastering
- Plumbing
- Gardening/landscaping
Watch our video with all the details here about Andy and Donna’s situation and what we’re trying to do to help
If you think that you can help and offer any of these or if there is something else that you think can help with our project then please contact georgie@hhho.org.uk or get in touch with us through our contact form. Let’s show what we can do when we all pull together. The pictures and the videos can’t show the extent to which the work needs doing but we hope that you can help or at least help us to spread the word to get this project done and give some much needed respite to a couple that really need it
