BCFC Chair and CEO visit HHHO

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]For many years since Harry’s passing Georgie has had a good relationship with Birmingham City Football Club. Georgie has always been touched by the love and support from the club and the fans whilst Harry was here, following his sudden passing and on the anniversaries and Birthdays where they have enabled her to update and thank everyone for their support.

This is what made this trip extra special for Georgie and the team at Help Harry Help Others. From the moment first time Georgie spoke in front of Tom Wagner of Knighthead Capital & Chair of board of BCFC, and also Jeremy Dale now Interim CEO at BCFC they promised a visit to see the work Harry created, and despite their busy schedule, especially with Tom’s time in Birmingham being limited – they kept their word and visited the Drop In Cancer Centre on 11th March 2025.

Georgie wanted to share a typical day and so they got to witness firsthand the reality of a day and the centres services activiies. Greeted by the small team and also joined by Chair of Trustees, Tom Ross who was sat in our Mens Matters support group for men, they both had a tour of centre so they got to see the many services we had to offer.

They were welcomed by service users who shared their stories and how HHHO helped them through cancer- either as a patient or a relative. In a private interview afterwards they shared their own experiences of being affected by cancer and also their understanding of the importance of such a service.

Georgie said ” We are extremely grateful for Jeremy and Tom taking time out to visit the centre. Of all the amazing charities in our city, we are very proud and feel privileged they have took the time out to come and see all that Harry Created. As well as sharing the wonderful work we do here to support those affected by cancer, it was lovely to thank them for sharing the love for our city and for uplifting many of us Brummies who are excited by their time and investment in our home town”.

Georgie is now looking forward to visiting the club on 5th April where the club have kindly donated a hospitality box for our last Harryz Young Starz Award winners to attend the game with some of our young people that use our services.
