[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Following the recent changes in government and the appointment of Sir Keir Starmer as Prime Minister, Harry’s Mom saw an opportunity to write to express her concern for all grass roots charities.
Georgie says “With the cost of living crisis, along with so many government cuts, more and more people are being referred to and turning to local grass roots charities for support. Whilst this is great and exactly what we are here to do, sadly more dependancy on services like ours means we have to implement additional skills to support like counsellors and trained listeners. Ultimately costs go up however, income since the pandemic is decreasing every year with people understandably struggling to make ends meet. Something has to change, we are after all, all providing a lifeline of support in the heart of communities to so many people, yet the smaller charities are always overlooked. we dont have large back office teams and are constantly under pressure. My letter invites the Prime Minister to the centre for a meeting to discuss how we can ensure that small charities, like HHHO get more support to support the goverment and more importantly the people that need us”.
